Chain Around

The Chain Around is a soft hobo with a chain-and-leather strap threaded through eyelets running right around the top edge of the bag, so the strap and the closure are the same piece. Black leads by a wide margin. Those eyelets are where these fail — the leather stretches and tears around them, and once one goes the whole top edge slackens. Check every eyelet along the run, then the chain plating, the leather threaded through it, and the base, which on an unstructured hobo carries the weight.
