Tabby

The Tabby is a squared shoulder bag with the house name spelled out in metal across the front and a turn-lock at the centre, on a short strap or a longer detachable one. Glovetanned and pebbled leather are usual. Browns and beiges lead, in a wide colour range. A large share of what circulates is unworn or still tagged. The lettering is applied and its plating rubs at the raised faces; the turn-lock loosens. Check both, then the flap corners and the base, which on a structured bag wears through first.
