Tempête

The Tempête is a structured top-handle bag whose front flap curves down over the body and fastens under a metal clasp, cut so the sides taper inward. Box and supple calf are both used, along with woven and panelled versions. Black and pink lead. Box calf, where used, scratches easily and shows the marks as pale lines that cannot be polished out. On all versions the curved flap edge rubs along its length and the tapered corners go first. Check that edge, the corners, and the clasp plating at its contact point.
