Jil Sander opened a Hamburg boutique in 1968 and showed her first collection under her own name a few years later, building a house on undecorated tailoring and material quality — the reason the word minimalism attached itself to her work. She left the label and returned to it more than once. Raf Simons directed it from 2005, Lucie and Luke Meier followed, and Simone Bellotti has led it since 2025. The bags follow the same logic: no visible branding, clean seams, and shapes that depend on how the leather holds itself. The Goji is the one the resale market looks for, a rounded top-handle bag in smooth calf; the Tootie and the Hill account for most of the rest. With no logo to read, the condition of the leather and the crispness of the edge paint are what carry the value.
