Lancel

Lancel was founded in Paris in 1876 by Angèle Lancel, which makes it one of the older French leather houses and one of the few started by a woman. It has always sat a step below the luxury names in price while keeping French leather-goods conventions — turned edges, saddle stitching, and hardware kept small. Most of its recognisable lines date from the two-thousands. The 1er Flirt is the shape most listed, a soft bucket closed by a drawstring and a flap. The Brigitte Bardot bag was made with the actress and is the house's best-known collaboration, and the Adjani and Daligramme come from the same run of named designs.
