Stella McCartney

Stella McCartney founded her house in 2001 and has never used animal leather or fur in it, which is the single fact that shapes everything else here. The bags are made from coated and plant-derived alternatives — materials drawn from grape and agricultural waste among them — with recycled metal for chains and hardware. That makes condition assessment different: these surfaces scuff and craze rather than patina. The Falabella is the house in one object and much the most listed. Introduced in 2009 and named after a breed of miniature horse, it is a simple tote outlined entirely in a chunky chain, with the chain doing the work that stitching and hardware do elsewhere. The Falabella Box and Falabella Go are its smaller and softer versions, with the Frayme and Stella Star covering the newer shapes.
