Tod's

1,626 listings · 4 models

Tod's grew out of a cobbler's workshop opened in the Marche region of Italy in the early 1900s by Filippo Della Valle, and was built into an international house by his grandson Diego. Its signature is the Gommino driving shoe, its sole studded with rubber pebbles, and the same instinct — soft unlined leather, visible hand-stitching, almost no hardware — runs through the bags. The D Bag is what the resale market looks for. A rectangular top-handle tote in smooth calf, it was a favourite of Diana, Princess of Wales, and the house renamed it for her after her death in 1997; it has been reissued in many sizes and skins since. The Shopping Media tote and the Stella follow at a distance. On all of them, the stitching and the shape of the handles are where wear shows first.
